Here’s a message from our Development Worker Sandra telling you what we at SVI have been doing this week to support our visually impaired members.

We hope you are all well and safe.
We have been busy calling all our SVI members to find out how you are and what support and information you need. We haven’t yet been able to call everyone, however you will get a call soon.
Mike, one of our trustees, is trying to organise activities for us on Facebook. For example Music of Our Lives and light exercise sessions. Visit our Facebook page and group and join in.
In some good news, Sandwell Council has renewed our funding for 12 months at least, which will get us through this difficult period while we look at how we move forward and our activities start again.
We’re getting updates from the council about their services and how they are impacted by the pandemic. We are doing all we can to ensure that the needs of the visually impaired community are met.
If you are struggling and need help you can call the council on 0121 569 2266 and they can set up the support you need. Or you can call us and we can help you to access services.
Our office is staffed two or three times a week, however we do have a call forward on our phone and are dealing with our emails.
