Black Country Stories in your Talking Newspaper

We are working with Black Country Touring and Sandwell Talking News to bring a series of Black Country Stories to our visually impaired members. We want as many people as possible to be able to access these fascinating tales from the Black Country. Sandwell Talking News will include one new episode every week for the next ten weeks. This starts this Saturday (27 November) with a short introductory trailer.

Bobby Tiwana from Black Country Touring said: “Building on last year’s success of ‘Fred Jeffs: The Sweetshop Murder’, Black Country Touring have launched a new podcast channel to profile the region called Black Country Stories. The forthcoming season includes a three-part series ‘Voices of the Fairground’, single story episode ‘Tattoo Stories’ and 6-part series ‘A Word in Your Ear’, featuring poetry and song hosted by long-time BBC Radio 3 presenter of ‘The Verb’ Ian McMillan. All stories are researched and born out of the Black Country, created and performed by local artists.”

You can access the Black Country Stories podcast here or listen every week in the Sandwell Talking News. To find out how to listen to Sandwell Talking News, follow the link to the webpage.

Happy listening!
