Three Peaks – two down, one to go

Cassie scales Scafell.

In the second leg of her fundraising Three Peaks adventure for SVI, our Information and Support Worker Cassie successfully scaled Scafell Pike in the Lake District. Setting off early on the morning of Saturday 29 June, she enlisted the support of two friends to meet this second challenge.

Cassie said: “Scafell Pike was a fantastic experience. I was incredibly lucky with the weather on the day. The sun shining intermittently throughout meant the views from the top of the mountain were really rewarding. The climb was tough. Although it was not as great a distance as Ben Nevis, the terrain was incredibly steep and consistent in incline. This and the heat made it a little more strenuous.

“I am currently less than £100 from target so a huge thanks to everyone who has contributed so far and made this possible.

“I will be completing the Three Peaks by the end of the summer and have heard great things about the final mountain Snowdon, so watch this space for the final update.”
