Itinerary
On arrival, RSPB staff will welcome us to the visitors’ centre, where we can find out about the wonderful wildlife on our doorstep and the sites rich history.
We will then be encouraged to get into the spirit of autumn with a gentle stroll around the wildlife garden and lake, where we can feel the crunch of vivid red, orange and yellow leaves under our feet and seek out fungi and autumn wild flowers.
We will see migrating birds as they stop to rest, meet the bullfinches as they refresh themselves at the feeding station and listen to the ring necked parakeets as they feed off the apple trees in the nature garden.
At 12.30pm we will make the short journey to the Malt Shovel pub, Newton Road, Great Barr – where we can warm up with an autumnal carvery lunch, or if you prefer you can choose something from the main menu.
Entrance to the RSPB Nature Reserve and guided tour is free but you will have to buy your own lunch and any refreshments.
