Calling all SVI members and friends! Try something new! We are excited to be starting up some Goal Ball taster sessions this August. They will be from 4pm to 6pm on Thursdays 15 and 22 August at Portway Lifestyle Centre, Newbury Lane, Oldbury B69 1HE
Goal Ball is a team sport. Each team is made up of three players. The aim is to get the ball past the other team to score a goal. Each team player has to wear goggles that black out all sight so that everyone can play on an equal basis.
Goal Ball is also a Paralympics sport. So let’s aim high in getting a Sandwell team set up. We never know where we will find ourselves over time!
Find out more about Goal Ball here.
These two taster sessions will give you the opportunity to have a go. If we get enough interested people to come along we may be in a good position to apply for funding to set up a Goal Ball club in Sandwell.
Thank you to Portway Lifestyle Centre for hosting these taster sessions.
If you are interested in coming along to either or even both of the sessions, please let the SVI office know. Give us a ring on 0121 525 4810 or emailĀ info@sandwellvisuallyimpaired.org.uk and we can book your place.
