E-scooter trials started in West Bromwich on 8 December. The scheme is operated by VOI and approved by Sandwell Council. They invited SVI Chair Tony Averis and Development Worker Sandra Troth to the Town Hall to view the new e-scooter.
SVI is now in discussion with VOI, who are keen to make the trial work for everyone. SVI would like to hear from anyone with sight loss who encounters an e-scooter that is being wrongly used or parked, or who has a collision or a near miss with one. SVI urges people to use the scooters responsibly and to park with consideration for other road and pavement users.
If you have feedback, please call the SVI office on 0121 525 4810 or email info@sandwellvisuallyimpaired.org.uk. Your experiences matter and SVI is working to ensure that the voices of visually impaired people are heard.
