You should have a friendly, welcoming and supportive approach to encourage visually impaired people to build confidence in their abilities.
We need:
- Park walk guides
- Cycling buddies
- Archery spotters
- Gym and swim buddies
to support our members to take part in fitness activities on an equal basis.
This role is an excellent opportunity for people considering a career in sports and physical activities to get practical experience of working with disabled people.
Time commitment: From two hours per week, depending on the activities you help with.
Day and times: Weekdays
Location: Leisure centres and parks in Sandwell
Volunteers will receive sighted guide visual impairment awareness training and safeguarding training.
Travel and other out of pocket expenses will be met.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check may be required.
