You are warmly invited to join us for our Sandwell Talking News Annual General Meeting via Zoom on Monday 29 March from 2.30pm to 4.30 pm.
As well as conducting the formal business section of the meeting, we will be having a guest speaker and will hear from some of the friendly voices you listen to each week, our volunteer readers. You will also have the chance to ask questions and give feedback on any aspect of the Sandwell Talking News.
Our guest speaker this year is Dr David Cox, Reader in Criminal Justice History at the University of Wolverhampton. He is back with us by popular demand, after last year’s successful appearance. His talk this time will be entitled: ‘As gentlemanly a little fellow as ever stepped’ – the life and times of a Victorian convict prison governor. It’s about a prison governor of Dartmoor Jail, who had a very interesting life, with some rather unexpected twists.
You will also be invited to ask the Sandwell Talking News Committee members any questions you may have or, to let us know of any ideas you may have about how we could improve our recorded output each week.
