Sandwell Talking News AGM Monday 29 March 2021

You are warmly invited to join us for our Sandwell Talking News Annual General Meeting via Zoom on Monday 29 March from 2.30pm to 4.30 pm.

As well as conducting the formal business section of the meeting, we will be having a guest speaker and will hear from some of the friendly voices you listen to each week, our volunteer readers. You will also have the chance to ask questions and give feedback on any aspect of the Sandwell Talking News.

Our guest speaker this year is Dr David Cox, Reader in Criminal Justice History at the University of Wolverhampton. He is back with us by popular demand, after last year’s successful appearance. His talk this time will be entitled: ‘As gentlemanly a little fellow as ever stepped’ – the life and times of a Victorian convict prison governor. It’s about a prison governor of Dartmoor Jail, who had a very interesting life, with some rather unexpected twists.

You will also be invited to ask the Sandwell Talking News Committee members any questions you may have or, to let us know of any ideas you may have about how we could improve our recorded output each week.

Book your place

Call the SVI office  on 0121 525 4810 or email info@sandwellvisuallyimpaired.org.uk. We will send you a link nearer the time so you can join the meeting on the day.

If you would like to attend but are unclear about how you can do so via Zoom, then please let us know so that we can advise you. You can just dial in from your own phone, you don’t have to have the app, mobile or the internet.

Ray will be putting some of the highlights of the AGM in the TN editions following this meeting, so if you can’t make this meeting you can still listen to some of it.

We look forward to welcoming you.
