Pedal power

Members were invited in to SVI at the end of February to try out some portable pedal exercisers brought along by Victor Bulso from the Active Wellbeing Society.

SVI member uses his feet to pedal on the pedaliser. He is sitting on a settee
You are sitting on a settee having a chat, while your feet and legs are pedalling hard!

Everyone seemed to enjoy using both the leg and arm ‘modes’ whilst being indoors in comfort in SVI’s common room. It’s a bit like cycling when sitting still and there were a few people breaking out into a warm sweat whilst watching their calories being burned off!

Two SVI members work the pedalisers with their arms
It’s a great arm workout too

We hope to invite Victor in again in the future so watch out for more information in our activities letter or calendar of events.

This activity was part of our Support, Empowerment and Experience (SEE) project, funded by Healthy Sandwell. The funding has now ended however we hope to  repeat some of the activities.
