High-rise residents’ views sought

Block of flats

Do you live in a high-rise block of seven storeys or more? Have you ever lived in one? A government body is seeking your views around accessibility. By taking part, you can help develop the needs of other visually impaired people living in high-rise accommodation.

Consultant Cathrine Schioler is carrying out research for a government body to ensure that they design their new services to be accessible for people with visual impairments. She has asked us to get the message out to our members.

She said: “I would be grateful if any member of Sandwell Visually Impaired, who is, or has previously been, a resident of a high-rise building (seven storeys or more), would have between 45 -60 minutes to speak to me over Zoom. This is so I can better understand what is required to ensure that we design the new services to be accessible for individuals with visual impairments. I am happy to run either 1-to-1 sessions, or a focus group, depending on your preference.

“If you would be happy to help with this research, please contact me either by calling or texting me on 07966 290575 or emailing me at cathrine.schioler@paconsulting.com. Or if you have any questions about it, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

“Thank you in advance!”
