We have plenty of fun activities lined up for SVI members and friends this festive season. Buy your Christmas gifts, chat with friends, eat festive food, meet Santa, and experience Christmas past by candlelight. It’s all happening! Read on to find out more.
Active 60 – activities and trips for those of us aged 50+
Winter Bazaar Monday 28 November from 11.30am to 2.30pm at the Dartmouth Central Club
The winter festivities start here, with stalls packed full of lovely crafts and goodies to fill those Christmas stockings. Or just blow away the winter blues by treating yourself to something special. There’s help on hand to show you round the stalls, light refreshments to purchase, a chance to take part in the raffle and generally have a jolly time chatting and mingling with SVI friends and guests. It’s a fun way to get your gifts for Christmas and helps raise funds for the Active 60 group. Invite all your friends to come along too. Contact the office for more details or just drop in to the club on Monday 28 November.
Active 60 Santa’s turkey sandwich party
Thursday 8 December from midday to 3pm at the Dartmouth Central Club.
A date not to be missed if you are over 50 yet still a child at heart! Celebrate the joy that Santa brings at Christmas. Join us for a turkey sandwich and nibbles, festive fun and a visit from a special guest who has promised to come again this year. There is a £7 fee to attend this event, which can be paid on the day of the party, but booking is essential. So, call the office or email us to reserve your place at the party table.
SVI Women’s Group
Want to meet up in person, join the ladies of SVI on Monday 5 December from 5pm to 7.30pm for an early festive evening of cheese and wine tasting at our base at West Bromwich Town Hall. We will have festive music and if you want to take part in the secret Santa draw, please bring a wrapped gift up to the value of £5. We hope to have a few extra surprises for you too but mums the word! Please contact us to let us know you plan to attend.
The women’s group will also be having a ‘7 sleeps until Christmas’ Zoom get together on Monday 19 December from 5pm to 6.30pm. Join the ladies for their ‘its getting to look a lot like Christmas’ annual Christmas singalong and quiz. Don’t forget to don your Christmas Jumpers and have a mince pie ready!

Why not invite your family members and friends to join you for our varied social group.
A candlelit Christmas at Haden Hill House – Thursday 1 December from 6.00 – 8.30pm.
Come with us and visit this historic house and step back into Christmas past. We will take a tour of the house, join in the carols in the Drawing room and learn about Christmas cake with the housekeeper. Please note that this is a candlelit tour and the lighting will be very low. The cost is £4.50 per person plus additional costs if you require transport. Please contact the office for more information – tickets are limited!
