Blathering with SVI is the result of conversations between Sandwell Visually Impaired (SVI) and Black Country Touring artist Graeme Rose about a series of everyday themes that we may take for granted. All of us encounter the world in different ways, but how does living with sight-loss alter your understanding of, and ability to navigate, ‘Colour’, ‘Dreams’ and ‘Water’?
Blathering with SVI offers us an enlightening, sometimes surprising range of reflections on these themes, which have been turned into a series of three podcasts: Each one on a different topic, and each is accompanied by a rich auditory world, created by Think, Write, Fly.
Episode 1: Blathering about Water
We start with ‘Water’. Members of SVI talk about their memories, experiences and relationship with water.
Episode 2: Blathering about Dreams
The second episode of the series, Dreams is now available. Are dreams affected by sight loss? Ray was once asked – “Do blind people dream?” Well, here is his response.
Episode 3: Blathering about Colour
How does sight loss affect your perception of colour? And how do you begin to explain colour to someone who may never have seen it?
