Thursday 23 May from 10am to 3.30pm
Calling our Active at 60 members and friends! Come along and join us on the Trebalisa fully accessible narrowboat. Enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal to Wightwick and Valley nature reserve with fish and chip lunch on board.
We will meet at West Bromwich bus station, usual meeting place at 10am. We will travel together to the Wildside Activity Centre in Wolverhampton, where we will board the narrowboat.
Once on board, we will have morning pastries and coffee or tea as we cruise the waterway.
For the more energetic of you, there will be an opportunity to help work the locks, practice your navigational skills by assisting the skipper or just relax and watch the world go by.
At Wightwick while the boat turns, you can either stay on board or take a stroll around the Smestow nature reserve to experience the sounds, smells and sights of a spring morning.
On the homeward journey, we will have Black Country yarns followed by an on board fish and chip lunch with a beer, wine or soft drink.
The cost of the day to include all of the above will be £15.00.
If you would prefer to go directly to the Wildside Activity Centre, Hordern Road, Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton, WV6 0HA and meet us there, the cost of the trip will be £10.
Due to the size of the boat, numbers are strictly limited for this trip, so please call us soon on 0121 525 4810 or email info@sandwellvisuallyimpaired.org.uk. When booking, we will take your food order but you will not need to pay until the day itself.
