Thank you Belinda!

Fresh as a daisy, Belinda crosses the finish line in 2 hours, 33 minutes and 12 seconds.

Huge thanks and congratulations to our (half) marathon fundraiser Belinda Kaur. Belinda  smashed it on her fundraising run for SVI on Sunday 7 May at the Great Birmingham Run (Half Marathon). She’s smashed her fundraising target too, with a massive £1000 raised so far. That’s twice as much as her initial goal.

And that’s not all, her generous employers Redbrain Ltd  have pledged to match her donations. Thank you so much!

Belinda said: “What impressed me was how inclusive the day felt. There were people of all walks of life participating, including one gentlemen in a wheelchair who also completed the half marathon.

“It was encouraging to see so many people cheering one another on. I was committed to ensuring I did not stop until I completed the whole course. I had SVI in mind to keep me focused on what I was doing this for. It felt very liberating when I reached the finishing line – it was a very proud moment that I will always remember.”

Belinda was inspired to run for SVI by Graham Price, one of SVI’s co-founders. Belinda volunteered to support Graham back in 2019. She said: “Graham is committed to helping the community around him; SVI is a cause that he has dedicated a lot of his time to. During our first meeting together, my perspective on life had shifted – I wanted to be able to get involved and support this amazing cause even more. ”

This was Belinda’s first half marathon. What an amazing achievement! We’re so proud of you!
