SVI’s women’s group was pleased to raise a grand total of £66.72 for Macmillan cancer care at our March daytime group.
We welcomed Hilary Gwilt from Macmillan to talk to us about cancer awareness. Hilary was extremely caring and sensitive in the way she approached this difficult but very important subject. She helped ease our fears and stressed the need for early diagnosis.
As part of this meeting, we baked cakes which were enjoyed by our ladies, sold throughout the Town Hall and next door at West Bromwich Central Library.
A great big thank you to all who baked such yummy goodies, and to the folk who helped raise funds for Macmillan by buying them and eating with such enthusiasm.
