As part of the Birmingham Eastside Metro extension to Digbeth, Lower Bull Street in Birmingham City Centre will be closing to all through-traffic to allow works to take place.
This phase of works will see a new tram track being laid along Lower Bull Street and its junction with Corporation Street.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians and to businesses but buses that previously stopped at Lower Bull Street and outside The Square Peg public house will be re-located to alternative stop locations nearby.
- Each bus stop will have clear signs and maps pointing towards the new stop locations.
- Colleagues from Transport for West Midlands and the bus operator National Express will be on site for a fortnight to guide people around the new arrangements.
What support is on offer to your service users and staff:
- An information toolkit (attached) includes social media & digital screen images, posters, a PDF map and guide for all city centre bus stops and links to Transport for West Midlands webpage.
- The webpage also includes an interactive map and access to new timetables to help people travelling on public transport.
Two PDF documents within the attached toolkit entitled “Lower Bull St Bus Directory” (page 8) and Map of Bus stop locations (page 9) which provide details of all the changes for all those bus routes & stops affected. Unfortunately some of the PDF Toolkit is inaccessible with screenreaders but an accessible PDF is included below listing the changes to Bus Stops:
