You are warmly invited to join Sandwell Talking News Annual General Meeting via Zoom on Monday 4 April from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Registration from 1.45pm.
As well as conducting the formal business section of the meeting, we will welcome two guest speakers, Tim Pinnick and poet Adrian Earle.
Tim is currently acting Vice Chair of Sound On (The Ipswich and District Talking Newspaper). He is totally blind, and retired four years ago after 30 years with BT. He is responsible for the technical production and editing of their bi-annual audio magazine. Tim will talk about his involvement with the newspaper, sound production and his personal views on the future of talking newspapers.
Adrian B. Earle is a Writer, Poet, and Media Maker from Birmingham. He is interested in innovative ways to tell stories and shape language in new poetic forms. Adrian has worked with Sandwell Visually Impaired as part of the Black Country Touring ‘A Word in Your Ear’ project. He spoke over the phone with visually impaired people during lockdown to produce the poem ‘Congregation’ which he will present to us at the AGM.
You will also have the chance to ask questions and give feedback on any aspect of the Sandwell Talking News.
