Our social and leisure activities are coming back!

We’re excited to tell you that we are starting up our social and leisure activities from the beginning of April. Contact us to book your place.

Beer and Skittles Night – 7pm, Fri 1 April

SocialEyes is on its way back – an activities group for you, your family and friends. Beer and Skittles night at the Dartmouth Central Club, Devonshire Drive, West Bromwich B71 4AA – Friday 1 April, from 7pm till late.

Join us to play the fool or be deadly serious, as we take on the other SVI teams on our beer and skittles night. There is a £6 entrance fee which includes the skittle match with small prizes, a bottle of something for the lucky winner of the entrance draw, prize raffle and a buffet to satisfy your hunger pangs. Booking and payment in advance is required. There are a few of you who had paid for our event way back in March 2020 and of course your ticket and payment will be honoured. Contact the office to book or drop us an email. We will contact those who have already paid.

Accessible park ride cycle taster session – 1.30pm, Thurs 7 April

Park ride accessible cycle taster session at Sandwell Valley, Salters Lane West Bromwich B71 4BG – Thursday 7 April from 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Would you like to have a go at riding a tandem, a side-by-side bicycle, an adult tricycle, or prefer to stick with a standard cycle. Join us for this taster session to find out if you think you would be interested in regular ‘park ride’ sessions. This taster afternoon is free and refreshments can be purchased from the Sandwell Valley café. Call the office to book your place.

Lunch at Lakeside and Cookhouse Pub – 12.30 pm, Weds 20 April

Active 60, our group for lively minded members aged 50+, lunch at the Lakeside and Cookhouse Pub, Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury, B69 2BH – Wednesday 20 April 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Join us for lunch and a chance to catch up with friends and to plan the Active 60 upcoming summer programme. For example, some people have asked for a narrowboat trip with a fish and chip lunch or a day out at Bourton-on-the-Water. It’s your chance to give us your ideas and to share lunch with us. Contact the office to book your place – for this event you pay on the day for what you choose from the menu and bar.

Women’s Group afternoon tea – 2pm Monday 25 April

Women’s group afternoon tea at Junction 9 ¾, Spring Head, Wednesbury, WS10 9AD – Monday 25 April from 2pm to 4pm.

Sorry gents, this is a lady’s event that has been arranged by our Women’s Group. The tea room is based on the Harry Potter theme and its sure to be a magical afternoon. Dress up if you want, either in your glad rags or bewitch us in your wizard’s wear. Afternoon tea is £12.50 per witch – other eating options are also available. Contact the office or send us an owl-email for more details and to reserve your place.

Please call 0121 525 4810 or  email info@sandwellvisuallyimpaired.org.uk to find out more about any of the above activities and to book your place

Coming soon – new spring and summer health and wellbeing programmes.
