They will provide information and talk with us about diabetes\, pre-diabetes and the services available. \nWe will also be joined by Belinda Kaur\, and her work colleagues Shaazia and William. Back in May Belinda ran the Great Birmingham half marathon to raise funds for SVI. Her employer Redbrain kindly matched the amount she raised\, and we’ve invited them here so we can thank them in person. DESCRIPTION:We will meet at the main gates of Dartmouth Park near the War Memorial at 12 noon. We will take a leisurely stroll around the park\, finishing at the Dartmouth Central Club for refreshments at 1.30pm to 2.30pm.  \nPlease tell us in advance if you plan to join us for the walks. DESCRIPTION:This is a virtual event via Zoom. \nHurrah\, they’re back! Don’t miss this chance to cook and have a laugh too with our very own ‘masterchefs’. You’ll learn how to make something delicious at this Zoom session. With hints and tips for people with sight loss\, you will be surprised at how your cooking improves. \nThis month’s recipe is broccoli fried rice. Healthy\, quick and yummy. If you would like to cook along with us\, here are the ingredients that you need. \n1 cup cooked white or brown rice\n1 cup broccoli florets\n2 tbsp roasted cashew nuts\n2 tbsp oil\n1 tbsp chopped garlic\n1 tbsp chopped ginger\n½ cup chopped spring onion\n1 tbsp chopped chilli flakes\n1 tbsp dark soy sauce\n1 tsp red chilli sauce\nSalt to taste\nPepper to taste\nCoriander to garnish \nContact the SVI office to be added to the attendance list. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the first Wednesday of each month between 10.30am and 12noon. This is an informal session\, where we welcome guest speakers who will update you on a range of subjects. Come along to enjoy a cuppa and a round or two of toast\, with time to chat with friends too.   \nOn 7 June\, Jackie Taylor from Changing Our Lives will join us to talk with people about their views\, experiences and ideas on Direct Payments. A Direct Payment is money you can get from the council to pay for your support (if you are eligible for help from adult social care).  The council has asked Changing Our Lives to talk to people who have a Direct Payment and those who don’t (but are eligible) to find out what is working well\, what isn’t working well and what improvements can be made. An accompanying programme of events for the Visually Impaired has been funded by Bearwood Community Hub. Join in with Tudor Dancing! \n13:30 Hear the voice of actor Paul from Oddbodies Theatre before he performs a one-man KING LEAR. It premiered to five star reviews at the 2019 Brighton Fringe Festival.
