DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately this walk has had to be cancelled due to the bad weather. Please join us next week. \nDartmouth Park walks are back! \nWe are starting our popular park walks again from Thursday 9 March. Meeting at 12pm just inside the main entrance to Dartmouth Park and near to the cenotaph. We will stroll around the park for around 45 minutes\, ending with a social get together at the Dartmouth Central Club. Each week we will observe how the seasons change from winter to spring. This short walk is a great way to shake off those winter blues.

DESCRIPTION:This new course is run in partnership with SAFL (Sandwell Adult and Family Learning) and Sandwell Library Service.  It takes place every Thursday afternoon for five weeks commencing Thursday 3 November from 2pm to 4pm. \nThis course gives you an introduction to tablets and digital technology.  Learn the basics of accessing online services\, staying safe online and much more. You may find using a table easier than you first imagine. If you know a little or a lot\, you are very welcome to join us and\, for those of you who are familiar in the use of tablets and mobile phones\, why not become a buddy and share your knowledge. \nYou will learn how to: \n\nTurn iPad on.\nSet accessibility settings.\nShut down iPad correctly.\nKnow how to log in to iPad and the importance of this.\nIdentify the different components of the iPad correctly.\nConnect to the Internet via the iPad.\nType a web address in an address bar.\nType a web address starting with www.\nUse search engines such as Google effectively.\nOpen multiple tabs on the Internet.\nAccess an email account from the iPad.\nSet up an email account (if applicable).\nSend an email.\nReceive and read an email.\nAttach a document to an email.\nUse an iPad to take photos.\nUse Safari to access the internet\, for shopping\, using social media sites and creating bookmarks.\n\nThere will be opportunities to explore further topics should you wish to. \nPhone the SVI Office on 0121 525 4810 and leave a message if there is no answer or\, you can email us at info@sandwellvisuallyimpaired.org.uk
