Emma will show you some of the latest aids and equipment to make living with sight loss easier. She will answer any questions you have about visual impairment and help you to access further services if you need to.

DESCRIPTION:Walking the High Street is a walking workshop with SVI\, Multistory and The Wildlife Trust on Thursday 20 April \nMeeting at West Bromwich Bus Station at 10.45am\, we will join our Multistory friends for this interesting\, free of charge walking workshop\, from 11am to 1pm. As part of a new programme called Green Roots\, we invite you to discover the hidden nature of West Bromwich high street. Led by a member of The Wildlife Trust\, Multistory and SVI sighted guides\, you will learn seasonal information about trees\, plants and birds. You will also learn what we might expect to change and grow as a result of Sandwell Council’s Urban Greening Programme that will take place over the next few years. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Active 60 Easter festivities at the Dartmouth Central Club\, Devonshire Drive\, West Bromwich B71 4AA on Thursday 6 April from midday to 2.30pm \nCelebrate the approach of Easter with your Active 60 friends\, as we get together for a light buffet\, an Easter bonnet competition\, Easter games and…watch out for that cheeky bunny with lots of surprises up her sleeve! \nThis is an event for young at heart people aged 50+\, their families and friends. \nThere is a £5 fee to help cover the costs of the buffet. This is payable on the day of the event but it’s important to book your place in advance as numbers are limited.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday 16 March at 12noon. \nWe will meet just inside the main entrance to Dartmouth Park\, West Bromwich and near to the cenotaph. We will stroll around the park for around 45 minutes\, ending with a social get together at the Dartmouth Central Club. Each week we will observe how the seasons change from winter to spring. This short walk is a great way to shake off those winter blues. \nLet’s hope the weather is more spring-like this week!

The morning will include a generous mix of information\, entertainment and updates from our invited guests and the SVI team. \n\nWe welcome Kathryn Wood\, Scams Prevention Officer of Sandwell Council Trading Standards. Kathryn will tell us about current scams to watch out for and how to avoid them.\nBy way of light entertainment\, we welcome Chris Jones\, singer\, musician and story teller.\nOur new Volunteer’s Coordinator\, Nigel Self\, will introduce himself\, tell you about his past work and his future plans with SVI.\n\nThere will be refreshments and a raffle. \nTravel costs will be met if you live in Sandwell and have a receipt for your journey. \nThe morning is a good opportunity to catch up with old friends\, meet new ones and tell us what you would like SVI to do for you. \nWe do hope you will join us.
