DESCRIPTION:Join us on the first Wednesday of each month between 10.30am and 12noon. This is an informal session\, where we welcome guest speakers who will update you on a range of subjects. Come along to enjoy a cuppa and a round or two of toast\, with time to chat with friends too.   \nOn 7 June\, Jackie Taylor from Changing Our Lives will join us to talk with people about their views\, experiences and ideas on Direct Payments. A Direct Payment is money you can get from the council to pay for your support (if you are eligible for help from adult social care).  The council has asked Changing Our Lives to talk to people who have a Direct Payment and those who don’t (but are eligible) to find out what is working well\, what isn’t working well and what improvements can be made. Join in with Tudor Dancing! \n13:30 Hear the voice of actor Paul from Oddbodies Theatre before he performs a one-man KING LEAR. Includes a set description with Sarah-Ann Cromwell. \n14:00-15:20 Oddbodies Theatre’s one-man KING LEAR. The play is not audio described but is written like a radio play for accessibility. It premiered to five star reviews at the 2019 Brighton Fringe Festival. DESCRIPTION:Join SocialEyes for a day trip to the river Trent\, Nottingham. We will board the Princess riverboat for a roast dinner with dessert as we take a leisurely cruise along the Trent\, with audio commentary. The cost of this day out is £30 and includes coach travel\, river cruise\, your meal and tea/coffee. There is a bar on board for those of you who\, at an extra charge\, want to partake of a tipple. \nWe meet for the coach at our usual meeting point in West Bromwich at 9am and expect to arrive back in West Bromwich by 5.45pm. \nBooking and payment in advance for this trip is essential\, so don’t delay.  \n(The SocialEyes group has activities for VI people of all ages. The group has recently received some funding from the Wates Family Enterprise fund. This means that we can run some trips at a subsidised cost to our members. ) \n

DESCRIPTION:Tea and Toast at SVI\, West Bromwich Town Hall – a regular date for your diary \nJoin us on the first Wednesday of each month between 10.30am and 12pm.  This is an informal session\, where we welcome guest speakers who will update you on a range of subjects. Come along to enjoy a cuppa and a round or two of toast\, with time to chat with friends too. \nOn Wednesday 3 May we welcome Emma Basudev from Sandwell Council Sensory Services. Emma will show you some of the latest aids and equipment to make living with sight loss easier. She will answer any questions you have about visual impairment and help you to access further services if you need to.

DESCRIPTION:Walking the High Street is a walking workshop with SVI\, Multistory and The Wildlife Trust on Thursday 20 April \nMeeting at West Bromwich Bus Station at 10.45am\, we will join our Multistory friends for this interesting\, free of charge walking workshop\, from 11am to 1pm. As part of a new programme called Green Roots\, we invite you to discover the hidden nature of West Bromwich high street. Led by a member of The Wildlife Trust\, Multistory and SVI sighted guides\, you will learn seasonal information about trees\, plants and birds. You will also learn what we might expect to change and grow as a result of Sandwell Council’s Urban Greening Programme that will take place over the next few years.
