Swimming
Be in the swim at West Bromwich Leisure Centre, every Monday afternoon from 3pm to 4pm
Whether you are a good swimmer or just want to splash about, join us in the pool.
Gym

Join us for a gym work out. Every Tuesday morning from 10am to 12pm at the Portway Lifestyle Centre. Make 2024 your year to get and keep fit. Join SVI members on the treadmill, the exercise bikes, weights and much more. Support is on hand to help you get the most out of the gym equipment. It’s a great way to keep fit in the winter when it’s not so easy to exercise out of doors.
Line dancing
Line dancing at Dartmouth Central Club. Ray and Jean, our fantastic line dance instructors, will lead the dancing on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm to 2.30pm at Dartmouth Central Club, West Bromwich. Line dancing is a great way to get fit and meet new and old friends. Check the events calendar for dates and please call the office to let us know that you are coming.
Accessible cycling
Learn how to cycle or improve your cycling skills. As part of our Inclusive Communities activities, we are holding accessible cycling at Sandwell Valley every Monday in October 2024 between 10am and 1pm. The course is run in partnership with Mencap, whose trained Parkride staff will assess the level of support that each person needs. They have a wide range of adapted and mainstream cycles available; there really is something for everyone. Contact SVI for details and to book your place. Transport can be provided from West Bromwich Bus Station to the Valley if you pre-book.
Funded by the Inclusive Communities Fund.
Park walks
Dartmouth Park walk
Our last two Dartmouth Park walks for 2024 are 10 and 17 October. We will meet at the main gates of Dartmouth Park near the War Memorial at 12 noon. Following a leisurely stroll, we will finish at the Dartmouth Central Club for refreshments at 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Titford towpath trek Monday 11 November
Meeting at the war memorial outside the Ebenezer church on High Street Langley at 10.45. After the 2 min silence we will continue around the park and then on to the Titford feeder canal taking in points of interest such as the park lodge, the Maltings, Titford Pump House and the Crow. Returning along the canal to visit the Tea Pot Café for lunch.
Please tell us if you are coming to any of our walks so that we can make sure we have enough sighted guides to help us get around safely.
Park walks and accessible cycling are part funded by the Inclusive Communities Fund.
