Sandwell Talking News AGM
Mon, February 24 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Join the Sandwell Talking News committee, volunteers, listeners and friends for our Annual General Meeting at the above address on Monday 24 February from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm.
As well as conducting the formal business section of the meeting, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers and readers, our creative and technical experts, our funders and supporters. A big thank you also to our listeners who have continued to receive the mailed audio, access the TN via our website and, now through the Amazon Echo devices and phone service. We also hope to welcome Councillors, organisational representatives and colleagues who have supported the Sandwell Talking News by raising awareness of our service across Sandwell.
This year, our guest speaker is Dr David Cox, a Reader in Criminal Justice History at the University of Wolverhampton, who will give us a talk entitled ‘Bow Street in The Black Country’. The talk centres on the brutal murder of a gentleman farmer and its investigation by the Bow Street Runners, the world’s first professional detective force. The talk will be interactive with audience participation encouraged! Listen to Dave’s introduction below.
Light refreshments will be provided, however please note that travel expenses cannot be paid for this event.
We do hope that you will be able to join us to celebrate another successful year of the Sandwell Talking News.
Please contact the SVI Office to register your interest in attending.
