News from the SVI office for week beginning 25 January 2016

A message from Sandra Troth, SVI Development Worker

Over the past week we have all been busy arranging the upcoming Sandwell Talking News AGM on 22 February. The afternoon promises to be very interesting with local writer Ian Bott agreeing to be our guest speaker. He has recently written his book ‘Zepps overhead, a night of terror in the Black Country’. As well as speaking about his book at the AGM, he will also be allowing us to use extracts of it in future Talking News editions. I’m really looking forward to meeting him and to learning all about how he set about writing his book. We all hope to see you at the AGM, so listen out for more information about the afternoon later in this paper and in the weeks to come.

The SVI Winter newsletter will be out soon and dropping through our members' letterboxes. It will tell you all about what SVI has been up to over the last few months and has information, tips and hints on lots of useful things to keep you safe, happy and independent in your home and while you are out and about. I hope you enjoy reading and listening to it.

That’s all for now and take care.
