SVI 'Taster' Art and Craft Classes for 2016

We are running a series of six free, fun weekly ‘taster’ art and craft classes for SVI members starting on Tuesday 12 January 2016, from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Sessions will take place at SCIPS [Sandwell Community Information and Participation Service], Christ Church, Birmingham Street, Oldbury B69 4DY

The classes will be run by professional artists and be open to visually impaired people. No previous experience needed, just an interest to give it a go!

We will take up to 15 people per class and look to provide, where possible,  all the materials for free – a small fee of £1.50 for each session is payable to cover refreshments.

The emphasis will be on fun, enjoyment and inclusion – you can come to all sessions or, join us for the ones you are particularly interested in.

The early line up is as follows;
Tuesday 12 January – Painting led by Richard Flatley
Tuesday 19 January – Claywork led by Ruth Durrant‑Jones

On Tuesday 23 February we will be running a guided tour to The Barber Institute, Birmingham University’s art gallery.
We have 12 places for an hour long guided tour specifically for SVI members.  Their introductory offer is free; they are laying on free tea/coffee and biscuits at the end of our tour.
Book early to avoid disappointment – ring 0121 525 4810.

Depending on the feedback, evaluation and the success of these taster classes we will look to see if we can run term long classes.
