Three Peaks Fundraiser: We Did It!

Fantastic news from our amazing Information and Support Worker Cassie. Well done. SVI are so proud of you.

“I completed Snowdon, the final mountain of the Three Peak’s challenge, on Saturday 5 October! It was drizzly and pretty misty throughout the day but the climb went great. We decided to take the Miner/Pyg route which turned out to be one of the steeper options. The views, the lakes and the café at the top were amazing making the more difficult route worthwhile!

“A few people have asked me which was my favourite of the peaks and it’s really hard to say as they all have their own beauty and charm. Ben Nevis was the most challenging and gave me the opportunity to travel to Scotland with outstanding views. Scafell Pike took place on a beautiful sunny clear day; it was a constant incline with breathtaking views in the warm sun. Snowdon had those fantastic lakes and a café at the top and by that point we were frozen solid so that was a major plus point! All three mountains earned brownie points with a perfectly positioned pub at the base for a celebratory drink! All points considered if I were to recommend one of the three it would have to be Ben Nevis, the height, the views, the snow at the top, the difference in terrain made it unbeatable.

“I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed completing this challenge. Myself and SVI are overwhelmed by the support we have received; donations have rolled in amounting to well above the £500 target and we are still pulling in some final donations.

“I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the challenge. The promotion, the baking, the fundraising and a special thanks to my mountain climbing buddies for their commitment to the climbs.

“Me and the team at SVI are moved by all of the support and couldn’t have done it without everyone who has been involved.

“Following this challenge’s success we hope to do more fundraisers like this in the future.

“Thank you.”
