National Eye Health Week 2017 – 15 September to 24 September

Eye Health Week bannerIt's that time of year again and we are busy preparing for National Eye Health Week. This is the time that we go out to each of the six towns of Sandwell to promote the message ‘don’t turn a blind eye to sight loss’, have a regular eye test and look after your peepers!

This year National Eye Health Week is from Monday 18 to 24 September – but SVI will be starting our eye health campaign on Friday 15 September. This is because we need to visit the stores on a date that they can accommodate us and we thought it was better to go before the week starts than once it had gone by.

Time: 10am to 3pm at the following venues.

Friday 15 September – Tesco West Bromwich.

Friday 15 September Morrison’s Wednesbury.

Monday 18 September – Asda Oldbury.

Tuesday 19 September – Tesco Burnt Tree.

Thursday 21 September – Tesco Cradley Heath.

Friday 22 September – Asda Cape Hill.

You have probably noticed that we have a double session on Friday 15 September, this is because we have to book Tesco stores nationally and this was the only date offered to us. Morrison’s Wednesbury were also unable to offer us a day during National Eye Health Week itself but could give us the Friday beforehand.

We are also speaking at the Sandwell and Dudley Optometry Education Event on Monday 18 September who have kindly chosen SVI as their charity for this event.

Can you help us?

Please can you help us to spread this important message to the general public on any of the above dates and venues. You can do a full day or days with us or just a few hours to suit your own availability. Morning from 10am to 1pm; afternoon from 12.30pm to 3pm – or a time more suitable if you can’t do the above. Contact us at the office or email us.
